AAEON strives to incorporate sustainability into our core business operations. Specifically, we on-going review the following policies and practices:

• 1. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
• 2. Purchase environmentally friendly products
• 3. Conserve energy, water and natural resources
• 4. Reduce overall Carbon Foot Print.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

• We reduce waste by recycling all papers, bottles, and cans.
  a. Separate recycling containers at each desk. Paper only, picked up every week.
  b. Large bins for cans, paper and bottles found in general kitchen area.
• AAEON Global has removed all paper manuals from our products. Electronic Versions can be found on our corporate website. www.aaeon.com
• We promo the slogan “Think 2x before you print”

Toxics Reduction

We minimize the use of toxic materials to protect employee health and the environment

• Use certified 3rd party electronic recycler
• Choose non - toxic janitorial cleaning products (Simple Green))
• Recycle waste: bulbs, batteries, aerosol cans and other universal waste
• Purchase rechargeable batteries when possible
• Purchase low mercury fluorescent lamps/bulbs when possible
• All current AAEON products are RoHS complaint.

Environmentally Preferable Program

We purchase/use

• Remanufactured toner cartridgesM
• Remanufactured toner cartridges
• Office & toilet paper with 35%-100% recycled content (or tree free paper)
• Products with least packaging (no Styrofoam, aerosol packaging)
• Energy Star rated appliances and office equipment
• Employees must turn off computers, phones and all electronics before leaving work.

Employee Education and supplier qualification

We educate employees on resource conservation and pollution prevention through

• Online training class
• Offering incentives to encourage environmentally preferable practices.
• Inform employees of environment issues thru HR newsletter, training material, staff meeting discussions, and semi-annual management meeting
• AAEON notifies all third party suppliers of our global environmental policy.
  • Vendors are asked to supply there action items to ensure a similar concern of environmental awareness.
  • We ask our vendors to be compliant to IBM’s Suppliers on Corporate Responsibility and Environmental Management.
    • A copy of IBM’s guide lines can be presented upon request.

Reduce overall Carbon Foot Print by implementing GHG conservation plan

AAEON promotes the use of mass transit and car-pooling among its team members. There are on-site amenities such as bicycle racks and lockers available for team members who bike or walk to the office. Employees must rent Hybrid or high MPG cars while traveling.

AAEON along with JCP&L (Local Electric company) to produce energy by solar power installed on our 20,000sf roof to power our facility and generate excess power into the power grid. By doing so we have reduced our over 100,000 CFC. Solar panel install and power consumption guide presented when requested. Through a lighting efficiency project AAEON saved 4.5 million kila watts a year which translates to more than $310,000 in savings.

Electronic Invoicing and Procurement – AAEON used electronic customer invoicing, and to date we have replaced 11,000 paper invoices and statements with electronic versions. Online purchasing tool for customers offers electronic IT fulfillment, EFT, online quotes, and online reporting capabilities. And we encourage businesses to choose software licensing to help eliminate unnecessary software boxes.

AAEON has not been subject to any fine or penalty in results of laws pertaining environmental policy issues.
