Taipei, Taiwan (April 09, 2007)--AAEON, a professional Industrial PC (IPC) and network appliance products manufacturer, announces a new addition to its network appliance solutions.  These products are compact in size therefore, designed for small space.  In this line, AAEON currently offers a 2U FWS-825.  The newly released FWS-816 deploys a 1U form factor to not only satisfy diverse customers’ demands, but also complete the AAEON’s network appliance product line and provide extraordinary networking performance.

FWS-816 adopts the Intel Pentium 4 LGA 775 Processor, up to 3.8GHz with 533/800/1066 Front Side Bus.  Moreover, the chipset is equipped with Intel 945G and Intel 82801FB (ICH7R).  The system memory features 2x240-pin DDRII 667 SDRAM DIMM socket total up to 2GB and supports dual channel.  It deploys eight LAN ports that consist of six PCIe Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports with two ports bypass function and two 10/100Base-TX LAN ports.  FWS-816’s condensed appearance features 1U form factor that fits nicely into a space limited environment. 

This compact FWS-816 is equipped with one Ultra ATA, two SATAII-300 and CompactFlash^TM Type II connector with ATA mode.  In addition, it offers flexible expansion with network products and features one PCI expansion slot, one Mini PCI slot, two USB2.0 ports and one RS-232 console port.  The console port deploys console re-direction that increases the network security via remote control.  Moreover, there is a front panel support LCM with keypad control that allows for easy access and operation.  All of these designs provide for a more user-friendly solution.    

FWS-816 is an unprecedented networking appliance solution for last mile building system (ie:  Gateways, Firewall, VPN, UTM, Routers, etc…).
